Every Kernel is assigned a rarity score based on its traits: deformation amplitude, subdivision depth, glitch success, grouping complexity, flavor probability, and the primitive it began from. Each variable contributes a weighted likelihood—multiplied together to form a raw rarity score. That score is then log-transformed: -log10(rarity). The smaller the base score, the higher the rarity. This is not about visual drama—it’s about mathematical anomaly. A form might appear simple but be composed of near-impossible conditions. True rarity isn’t loud. It’s improbable.

🧭 Archetypal Clarity and Low-Entropy Alignment:

To rank the most narratively aligned forms across 5 million outputs, we created a scoring system that balances two key forces: individual precision and narrative coherence. Each entry receives a Final Score calculated as 1 ÷ (Distance × Entropy) —a formula that rewards forms that are both close to the center of their narrative cluster and part of a tightly grouped identity.

Distance is how close a form is to the centroid of its narrative—its most typical expression. Entropy is a measure of how consistent that narrative is overall. Low entropy means a clear, well-defined category. High entropy means internal variation and fuzziness. By multiplying distance and entropy together (and then inverting), the Final Score rewards forms that are both close to their center and part of a well-formed, tightly clustered narrative.

Under this system, VESTIGE dominated the top spots due to its ultra-low entropy (~0.06). Even a slightly off-center VESTIGE gets amplified. Meanwhile, MASK still appears—but not because it’s tight. MASK is highly entropic (~11), but its enormous population produces many forms exactly on its centroid, salvaging their score.

The result is a beautiful paradox: VESTIGE is sacred stillness—rare, pure, unglitched. MASK is distortion by repetition—overwhelming in number, but exact in its identity. This method doesn’t just reward rarity—it rewards clarity. It lets each form whisper, “This is who I am,” and lets the system decide how loud that truth rings.

In the end, the top ranks aren’t just statistics—they’re a mirror of intention. Each entry is a signal, amplified by the harmony of its kind.

  • VESTIGE: Appears only when the system did everything—and the form resisted. No glitch. No deformation. No agents. No subdivision. A shape that stayed still. Stillness became its signal.

Narrative rarity lives on a plane—it reveals meaning through placement in the system’s logic.
Chaos rarity lives at the edge—it measures the pressure needed to break form.

Some Kernels are rare because the system had to fight to make them. Others are rare because the system did everything—and they remained unchanged. But the most chaotic ones? They didn’t survive. They became Broken.

And neither is more valuable.
